John P. Lavelle

John P. Lavelle is President and Owner of Geological Engineering Services, Inc. (GESI) headquartered in Indiana, PA.  Prior to forming GESI in 1995 John spent ten (10) years as a Geological Engineer for Snyder Brothers, Inc. in Kittanning, PA and worked for several years as a Field Engineer and District Engineer for Western Company of North America in Homer City, PA.

 He has a BS in Geological Engineering from the University Of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and a BS degree in Geography from South Dakota State University.

During his tenure with Snyder Brothers John provided all technical services for oil and gas development and production activities.  His responsibilities included managing production maintenance for over 1500 Wells, including pipeline construction and repair; compressor sizing including installation and service. He was also responsible for supervising a staff of Well Tenders and a Field Agent.

Additional activities during this period included developing Drilling prospects, direct Leasing activities and managing vendors from bidding through completion of work.  On a daily basis he supervised staff, performed log analysis, completion design and execution activities.

He also provided engineering support to field production operations; and developed relationships with the Department of Environmental Protection officials.  In addition to technical responsibilities he performed the duties of Operations Manager.  A notable achievement during his time was the drilling and completion of approximately 700 Wells.
